Once you have completed the online booking formalities we will contact you to arrange a suitable R/V point and send you the necessary disclaimer(s) and paperwork. The R/V point will be easy to find in most cases, near a supermarket/shop and fuel filling station so that you can top up with fuel food drinks and use the facilities in general.
We aim to meet from 10.00 normally. At this initial meeting we will introduce ourselves and explain what we will be doing for the first part of the day. Your paperwork will also be taken in and we will check over your vehicles to ascertain what you carry in the way of recovery equipment, recovery points and communications. This will help us place the vehicles in order of running for each part of the day.
There will also be a safety briefing, questions and answers and time for you to meet the other participants, ”diff sniffing” I believe is the term used nowadays!
We will also hand out some further information including our contact details, and some generic risk assessment forms.
The Group will then set off towards the first lane/track which will be a gentle introduction to our day, and from then on the difficulty or challenging nature of the route is purely down to the team leader and type of vehicles being led around.
If any of the tracks have a significant difficulty the Team Leader will brief everyone before entering the track and offer an alternative route if required.
After two or three tracks there is a break to check that those without CB radios are happy and take some photo’s. Also on some occassions the lead vehicle may stop the group before a particular section – go ahead and photograph you guys negotiating the terrain.
By 12.30 ish we will normally have covered between 7 and 10 tracks, depending on the route and we then stop for you to eat your packed lunches and discuss the day so far. It is a good time to ask questions about the tracks and how they should have been driven.
After lunch we change the running order in the convoy and head off for more tracks and features of the area. Again we hope to include another 10 or so tracks for you, stopping for photo’s, drinks in some of the more scenic and photogenic places en route. Occasionally we have to stop if one of the group gets stuck or suffers a flat tyre. Our routes are flexible to allow for all eventualities.
We aim to finish at around 4.30pm near to a major trunk road to allow you to get back home with relative ease. A photodisk of your day will also be despatched to you at a later date.
Your feedback is also welcomed good and not so good so that we can continuously improve our tours for everyone’s benefit. There is also a discount available for further trips you book with us.
