Two groups of trucks set out at 11 from the Rose & Crown at Yealmpton.

Team One was led by Simon with Roger on the roadbook, including a Volkswagen Synchro driven by another Roger coming along to try the lanes out for size!  Steve also brought along his Diesel Jeep Cherokee.

I led the second group of all Pajeros with Jack on the navigation, Sean and Lee being the other drivers.

The lanes were nice and wet, but, not so as to cause any problems for grip and damage as everyone was very careful in the conditions. Road tyres only caused a problem in one lane, whereas, the width of a couple of the lanes caused the VW to need 4WD and air lockers to pull itself thru some of the tree lined sections causing some panel damage. It was a case of ‘I’m going where you guys go even if it kills me approach!’

Lunch was taken in the Pub at Halwell followed by one more tight lane and them some more gentle ones.

Lee had to be assisted up one of the later lanes (Road Tyres) before we dropped down to the tidal road at Aveton Gifford for a wade in the river for those who fancied it.

Another great day out – Thanks everyone.
